Why Massage Therapy Should Be Part of Your Self-Care Routine

Presented by Dorota, owner of Bliss Therapy By Dorota in Bath

Hi everyone — I’m Dorota, the founder of Bliss Therapy By Dorota, and today I want to take a few minutes to talk to you about something that often gets overlooked in our busy lives: massage therapy.

As a business owner, I know how easy it is to get caught up in the hustle — deadlines, responsibilities, and never-ending to-do lists. But over the years, I’ve learned how crucial it is to hit pause and take care of both our bodies and minds. And massage is one of the most effective, restorative ways to do that.

At Bliss Therapy , I offer two most popular — and personally, two I absolutely recommend — are Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Massage.

Let’s talk about Swedish Massage first. This is the ultimate relaxation treatment. It’s gentle, flowing, and incredibly soothing. Swedish massage uses long, gliding strokes that help to increase circulation, release surface-level tension, and relax the nervous system. It's perfect if you’re feeling mentally drained or physically tight from stress.

What I love most about it is that it doesn’t just feel good in the moment — you actually leave the session feeling rebalanced. Clients often tell us they sleep better, feel calmer, and more present after their treatment. And honestly, we all need that reset sometimes.

Now, Deep Tissue Massage – it’s a game-changer. This one’s for those of you who feel the stress deep in your muscles — maybe you’ve got a tight neck and shoulders from working at a desk, lower back pain, or sore legs from training or standing all day.

Deep Tissue Massage goes further. I’m using slow, firm pressure to work into the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, breaking up knots and chronic tension. It can feel intense, but in the best possible way. You leave feeling lighter, looser, and more aligned — like your body can finally breathe again.

It’s also brilliant for injury recovery, posture correction, and long-term pain relief.

Why am I offering both? Because self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some days, your body needs to relax. Other days, it needs to release and realign. Our team is here to help you figure out what’s right for you — and every session is tailored to your needs.

Final thoughts from me as a CEO – and as a human being: Massage therapy is not a luxury. It’s essential maintenance — for your body, your mind, and your well-being. I genuinely believe that when we take better care of ourselves, we show up better in every area of life — at work, with our families, in our relationships, and for ourselves.

So if you’ve been putting it off, this is your reminder: you deserve to feel good in your own body.

Thanks for listening — and take care of yourself. You’re worth it.  With Love, Dorota 💛
